Local Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) rangers from Daisy Hill and Nerang Works Gang recently built the roof over the horse/fire tank. It fits in well with the landscape.
This was a fairly degraded site previous to the tank install. The new infrastructure has given this location a facelift and will be well used by horse riders and QPWS staff.
Once again, Shane from Gotcha Water delivered a free load of water for this wonderful local asset. Shane’s generosity and strong sense of community are much appreciated, and anyone who needs water delivered should give him a try – mobile 0417 611 114.
Thanks to Beaudesert Trail Riders for donating all the materials for this facility, and to QPWS rangers for their untiring efforts in making Plunkett a great place to visit.
(While this project is now complete, there is the possibility of installing some hitching rails adjacent to the tank, making it more usable as a rest spot for horse riders. Over to you, horse riders!)
