Friends of Plunkett Joins BushCare Program

The Friends of Plunkett is now registered with the Logan Community BushCare Program.

BushCare is a community based program supported by Logan City Council – you can read about BushCare here.

BushCare volunteers work in Logan Council’s bushland parks in conjunction with the BushCare Officer to preserve and protect the habitat.

As a portion of the greater Plunkett Park area is Council managed land, BushCare has an important role in controlling weeds and planting trees within parts of Plunkett.

By being a member of the BushCare group, Friends of Plunkett now has available a number of opportunities and resources:

  • Access to the BushCare library which includes a wide variety of books on native plants and animals
  • Able to attend BushCare training days on a variety of topics including Bush Restoration Techniques, Native Plant Identification, Weed Identification and Control, Seed Collecting and Native Plant Propagation Techniques
  • Access to technical assistance and advice on BushCare related topics
  • Able to attend educational events such as spotlighting, frog spotting and bird watching.

The contact for Logan Community BushCare is the Supervisor, Peter May who can be contacted via email at
